The yacht is a traditional boat of “varkala” type. Since 1994, the EU in its effort to mitigate the overfishing of the Mediterranean, has enacted a law to destroy traditional fishing vessels. Since then, thousands of boats have been ignominiously cut down. The shipbuilding peculiarity with which they have been built has been shaped through centuries of observation and evolution in modern wooden shipbuilding. Very few shipwrights are now alive and know how to build such a hull, making this a dying science. Using the boats for recreation is a wonderful way to preserve their memory. It is therefore a floating museum. See its beautifully curved lines and feel its light bounce on the waves.
